About Kathleen

Kathleen Veverka is a professional artist who graduated from Marlyhurst College in Marlyhurst, Oregon in 1992 with a B.A. in Art.

She was first recognized by galleries in New York for her daring plexiglass paintings of naked men wearing hiking boots and socks.

Since 1992, Kathleen has branched out to do more portraits and several abstract series. Her plexiglass work is especially exciting and unique because the paintings work on both sides.

“In the summer of 1989 I went to London and saw a painting of King Charles I  named One in Three Positions by Sir Anthony Van Dyck.   At that moment, something in me changed forever.  I knew then, I had to be an artist.”

Extraordinary Experiences

A U.S. Senator that was head of the Ways and Means Committee told Kathleen that she was his “favorite living artist.”

Kathleen has had several shows in New York, two of which sold out. Her work has been collected by famous art collectors, two U.S. presidents, U.S. Senators, professional athletes (including a legendary Super Bowl quarterback) and film directors.

A collector of note that famously commissioned 88 Andy Warhol silkscreens, offered to buy Kathleen’s entire collection of paintings but she “couldn’t sell her dad.”

Past Galleries

Kathleen has had several shows in New York (Soho) and Portland, OR.  She was also honored with a solo exhibition at Marlyhurst College.
